Persistence, Not Repetition, Gets the Deal

Another pearl from Seth Godin, on Persistence:

Persistence isn’t using the same tactics over and over. That’s just annoying.

Persistence is having the same goal over and over.

It doesn’t need much explanation, but I will try to add a bit of value to my audience of sales professionals. We are often told to hit the phone, pound the pavement, fill the pipeline. What if we altered our perspective to:

My goal is to make sure every person in my sales pipeline is maximizing their business in the area of expertise I provide–even if it is not with or doesn’t require my product.

I used the term persistence 4 times in this post yesterday. Are you repeating your last call or conversation or are you adamant about accomplishing your client goal?
