People have been doing it since the days of old and it has been a very lucrative avenue for many companies. I think you'll see many of these companies sink...consumers are not stupid and can see through most of these cheap tricks. The online market is changing and you'll see a lot more interactive purchasing in the future, which will require a live person responding to each message directly through a website. This will reduce a lot of the cat and mouse games played by these guys. Cross promotions are nothing new.
